Fire!

A fire started yesterday on the mountain in between Eagle Mtn and Saratoga Springs. We aren't too far from Saratoga Springs and we could get a good look. Last night when we went to bed it looked like they were getting it under control, although they said it was only 20% contained. The wind picked up this morning and made it worse. This was the scene from our deck this morning.

The fire looked really close, much closer than it actually was.

The smoke was everywhere, and in the sky it was orange from the sun. It looked a bit creepy.

Our good friends live in Saratoga Springs and got a knock on the door from a police officer this morning saying that they needed to evacuate. She asked how long she had and he said, "You need to get out now." She grabbed her kids, computer and pictures, and was out of there. I can't imagine being in that situation and grabbing a few important things, and worrying about the rest. They are all safe though, and that is the most important thing.
