Catching Up

It has been busy around here with the holidays.

We had a fun Christmas. Santa brought Cache some clothes, Avery a Cinderella dress and necklaces, Caleb 'I Spy' books, and Cole a remote control helicopter. He also put some little toys and treats in their stocking and we gave them a few other things as well, but their favorite gift was a Wii. It has been a lot of fun and something that we can do together as a family.

We had guests for New Years, and all of the cousins were able to be together. Jessica's family stayed at our house and Becca's family stayed at my Mom's. We spent a lot of time together and had lots of fun.

This isn't the best picture of all of the kids, but with that many it was hard to keep them still.
Avery and Brooke (Jessica's daughter) had so much fun together. They are only three months apart and enjoy all of the same things. I couldn't believe how well they played together, once they warmed up.

Cache was three months old on the 12th. I think if he wasn't so gassy he would be pretty happy, but as it is he is pretty quick to smile and a lot less fussy than he was. His siblings love to make him smile and talk.

Cache is 2 months

Cache hit his two month mark last week. It has been a long two months, but getting better. He has been gassy and my biggest complaint is that when he would fall asleep he would wake back up ten minutes later with gas or a burp. He still has me guessing whether or not it will be a good nap day, or a day that he won't sleep for more than twenty minutes at a time. He has been my hardest baby (being the most recent may have a hand in that) but it is a good thing he is cute.
Here are some pictures from the last two months:

Baby Burrito - 6 Weeks

Cache and Avery - One Month

Cache and Cole (Twins) - 6 Weeks

Cache and Caleb - 6 Weeks

Yay, smiling! 2 months

I have never been one to love the newborn phase, and knowing he is our last I tried to like it more. I still can't say I am a big fan, and people look at me like I am crazy when I wish for a baby to start at two months old. I love that he is smiling and able to be content more. If we could just get the napping thing down we will be great. He is a cutie though and we are happy to have him.

Caleb had a Birthday

Caleb turned 5 this month. Crazy how fast they grow.

(Caleb's first birthday)

Caleb is still going to preschool and loves it. The bus, the singing, his teacher, his friends, but mostly the snacks. His favorite things have been the same for a while now; hot dogs, cheetos, swimming, the trampoline, Cabela's, and Grandma and Grandpa Reary's chickens (he could play outside with them for hours).
For Caleb's birthday we went to Jump-on-it. It is a big place that has lots of trampolines next to each other, some for older kids and a different section for younger kids, also foam pits and blow up toys. Caleb loved it. In typical Terra fashion, I forgot my camera and didn't think to have Shane take a picture on his phone. Just imagine Caleb jumping with a big grin and a sweaty head. It was a good time.
Afterward we came to our house for cupcakes. Caleb's Aunt Sharon makes amazing cakes and cupcakes and offered to make him chicken cupcakes (not made of chicken, gross).

They turned out really cute and he loved them. Thanks Sharon!

Caleb is quite a comedian, we love him.

Trick -or- Treat

A few weeks late, but better than never, right?
I forgot to get pictures on Halloween, it was pretty crazy trying to get dinner, dressed and out the door. So here are a couple of Cache in his halloween outfit (thanks Aunt Jen, Aunt Sara and Aunt Kim for all of the cute clothes!). He wasn't too happy when I finally remembered to get a picture. (2 1/2 weeks old.)

I wish I would have got a better picture of this sad face.

We went to the Lehi city center for their annual Halloween party. The kids love it and its indoors, which is pretty nice. Avery jumped up and down when she saw Snow White, and had to pose with her favorite Disney princess.

Here are the kids, all dressed up.

10/12/12

We have a new addition to our family. Cache Christen Reary was born at 2:06 am on 10/12/12, he was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches. He was three weeks early, which at his weight was probably a good thing. We are all doing well and our family is happy to have him with us.

The kids are doing well and the transition so far has been easier than I had anticipated.

She is 3!

Avery had a birthday this week. I can't believe how fast this last year has gone, she is now three!? She still loves her doll her grandma gave her when she was a baby.

She also loves anything with Princesses on it and can name them all, but she is often found playing cars with her brothers. She can be pretty sweet and says some pretty funny things, but has quite the attitude. She is training her brothers to be great husbands too. She often shows off her clothes to Cole and he will comment how cute they are. Caleb has taken a bit more work as he is often in his own little world, but she has finally cracked that kid too. Just last night she said Caleb's name three times and when he finally looked, she pointed out her princess nightgown. His response was the same as usual, "pretty", with an absent smile.
This summer Cinemark has a different movie each week for just a dollar. We decided to go to the last movie of the summer for Ave's birthday. That night we took her to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and came home for cake and presents.

I took her to Target on her birthday to let her pick out a birthday present. That was pretty risky, she could have found something that cost too much, but I couldn't think of anything to get her. Luckily she spotted it quickly. She took off running and exclaimed, "a grocery cart!" She pulled it off the shelf, pointed to it Vanna White style and said "ta da!". It was perfect and right in the budget. She hasn't stopped playing with it for days.

Since it was so affordable I decided to get her a pair of bright pink jeggings too. CUTE. (Look forward to those pictures.) She also got some cards in the mail (Becca and Jess, you guys are so good) and some fun stuff from her Grandma and Leesa's family who came over to celebrate.
Her birthday cake didn't turn out quite like I had imagined it (they never do), but she seem happy with it and I guess that is all that matters.

If you can't tell the different shaped cake squares are supposed to be birthday presents. If I had the time and energy for fondant, that cake could have been amazing. As it was, the red velvet was pretty yummy.
We love this girl. Happy Birthday Avery!

First Broken Bone

We have been very lucky so far with our kids. In our seven years we have gone without a broken bone...until now. Avery was bothering Cole (those pesky younger siblings) and when he decided that he had enough he sat on her (those rough older brothers). It turns out that his seven year old body is too heavy for his sister's two year old body and he fractured her collar bone. After x-rays and a visit to the pediatrician she now has a sling and was told that she should heal in about two weeks.

Poor girl. She is taking it pretty well, as long and she doesn't get bumped and is moved very carefully. As long as she has Tylenol in her system she is okay. Lets hope this is our last broken bone for quite some time.

Caleb's Tooth

Caleb lost his first tooth!

We were eating corn-on-the-cob last week and I noticed that his tooth looked odd when he had finished. I check it out and it was so loose that it was barely hanging in. Of course, Caleb hadn't said a word about it. (His pain tolerance is crazy) As soon as we knew it was loose, Shane couldn't resist pulling it out. It didn't take much and Caleb didn't make a peep. Since he doesn't care at all about money, the tooth fairy brought him a treat. Lucky boy. That same night his pregnant mother couldn't sleep for hours, worrying how fast her kids are growing up. Awww.
